Turrican's
Got Himself A New Client...
31/5/2000 -
Right, for all of you who thought of something
dirty there, out - the lot of you - go on OUT!
Mud has no place for you filthy scumbags!
<grin>. Ahem. If anyone is left reading
this, then what I was talking about is
Turrican's excellent new mud2 client. For more
info click here, where
you'll find the download address, and
instructions and stuff. :-)
Oi Mankoid
! NOOOOOOO!
30/5/2000 -
Well, although my Harry Enfield impression isn't
up to scratch I think I've got my point across.
The crazy one is leaving! Finito! Period! Full
stop! I think it's a damn shame because we all
enjoy(ed) his column on that "other"
website (hehe), and he's a top bloke to boot as
well! There's probably nothing we can do to
change his mind (a fiver? a tenner? lots of
drugs???!) so I'd just like to say it's been a
pleasure - come back often please. We'll miss
you. <sniff>
Thumbs Up
For Tom!
30/5/2000 -
I shouldn't really have to stoop so low for my
headlines (the pun is probably the worst I've
ever used!), but what the hell! I've been sent a
really informative Newbie Guide which Tom wrote.
Thanks to Cat for checking this over - much
appreciated both of you - check it out here.
New Stuff
on the site!
30/5/2000 -
It's been an extremely hectic week, and I've
missed a lot of it through my short abesence. The
most notable thing being Reverence dying. Why is
this notable? Well see here, because I've done a special page on
it. Also up is an interview with fellow FF nut -
Cloud. Check it out here. Due to
editing problems the maniac/fleet extravaganza
will be put up next week sometime. Finally, we
have some new awards for you, my gentle reader,
to peruse over. Go here for that.
Oops almost forgot to mention the new (sort of)
mud site on my links page! Go there now and
bookmark it!!!
I'm Still
Alive!
27/5/2000 -
I took a three-day break from Mud to revise for
my impending doom...err...I mean A levels. (It
was meant to be a week, but I had just had to get
my hands on some darjeeling, you know?). I'm
going to update the site properly on Monday, with
interviews and the regualr awards. That reminds
me - a big thanks to everyone who has sent me
nominations and various bits to do with them.
Much appreciated! The result of DOTW is pretty
obvious I think...
Damn you
Freddie Mercury!
22/5/2000 -
A very auspicious header no? Well, after falling
asleep during Dennis Nordon last night, I missed
the result for Stars in Their Eyes. But, so
confident was I that Frank Sinatra would win, I
bet my mum - and lost, and now have to wash the
dishes all week :-(
Not mud-related,
but I had to tell someone though :-)
Four
Seasons in One Day!
22/5/2000 -
Because I have absolutely no talent for making up
good headlines, take this to mean Four Interviews
in one week. Confused? Well I've got a backlog
already, with four peeps answers here, and about
twenty still waiting in the wings!! So I'm going
to put four interviews up this week - the first
being Mankoid's amusing one, which is here. After that will be Fleet and Maniac,
who did theirs together, and finally the Fluffy
one we know as Cloud, near the end of the week.
Phew!
Baby
Golems and Dragon Bashes :0)
22/5/2000 -
Some really amusing logs. For all those people
who hate the golem, a very different point of
view indeed. And more fun courtesy of Fruitbat...here.
New
Awards!
22/5/2000 -
I've decided that from now on, Monday will be the
day I give out my awards. Check the latest ones
out here.
New for
Not-so Newbies
20/5/2000 -
An excellent not-so newbie guide by Tharg has
been put up. It's here, and well
worth reading.
"Well
hello Mr FireFly........"
20/5/2000 -
I've been duly informed that it was Cordelia who
I reckoned talks to Fireflies (see below).
Apparently though I was wrong - rat3 is more her
intellectual level, she tells me. Erm...sorry for
any uh, mixup. <grin>
Gza Speaks
Out!
20/5/2000 -
I've recieved a message from Gza. I assume he
wants me to put it up:)
"Yeah
this is the Gza just representin all da
playas. I think their should be a rule that
all you tearoom bitches should have to enter the
land after a time out limit whilst all you girls
and poofs bitch in your little chat room all day
and pretend you can play!
Peace.
Gza Wu-Tang!"
Hmmm.....:-)
Interview
with the erm, vampire.
20/5/2000 -
Well no. I was going to write something different
but realised that a movie tie-in would work far
better as an anchor for my new interview.
Danhossy gets the torture this time.....here.
WDI comes
up trumps!
20/5/2000 -
Big thanks are due to fellow websiter Wdi, who
very kindly supplied me with the obit from when
Mankoid lost his mage. Respect! (in my best Ali G
voice) Check the set logs out.
Interview
with FFFFFFFFFFF :0)
15/5/2000 -
Exactly how many f's do you call Firefarter by? I
used to use two (FireFarter). But since someone
told me that FF is a syn for Firefly I started
using three. Of course, that sort of made me
think that this person must chat with
Fireflies....hmm...anyway read the interview with
Mud2's King of Lemmings here. Also updated is the awards page, with
this week's winners including Tweety, and
Mistadee.
Let's Talk
about Death...
12/5/2000 -
Not as morbid as you might think. Death is a
rather good player who recently joined the fracas
that is our lovely WP Mud2 from Mud2.com. After
making mage in two days (??!) he was slated as a
cheat, and a sneak by idiots who don't realise
that the only times he can realistically play at
times when the land has only a handful of
players. This brings up the subject of Curfewing,
and our very own cool customer Ciara (I've really
got to stop this alliteration haven't I?) started
a good discusion about it on the Gameplay.com bb.
I love stuff like this, as it can really give
insights into how some players think. Join in the
discussion here. And
thanks to Ciara for keeping us all talking. More
stuff like this please!!
Sal's
Super Site Starts!
12/5/2000 -
Salvadore has followed the latest trend and
started up his own Mud2 site! The only difference
between his and mine is that he seems to have
opted for originality and style, while I just
throw this together without hardly a thought!
This ace site - which can be found here - is cool
because it's different than most sites in that
it's player-orientated, with profiles,
information and experience levels. I'd advise
everyone to follow my example and add it to your
bookmarks, as it really is a cool site - Sal's
currently asking for profiles (erm, would you
mind if I give you a different photo Sal? hehe -
I look too cheesy) so mail him with yours now!!
Mankoid
Mashes his Mage!
12/5/2000 -
Okay. Mankoid lost his mage and I promised that
I'd put the obit up. Of course, when you have to
format your pc because one of your mates corrupts
your windows registry cool stuff like this tends
to get lost. So I will shamefacedly admit that
it's gone. Forever. BUT! (and this is a big but)
since it was only two days ago, I was thinking of
asking one of the wizzes if they could help me
out a little. I'm not sure what they would say
but you never know until they ask. Saying that
though, I recieved a great response from mine and
Brick's (Brocken) appeal for wiz stories about
how they made wiz and stuff like that. Infact, we
got one reply and that was from a mortal! (Thanks
by the way Tovia - I'll take your advice I
think). Ah well. Wizzes lead busy mud lives and I
understand if they haven't got time to reply and
stuff like that...sorry Karya - I'll try to get
something in I promise. :0(
More
winnings for me?!! Bwahahaha?
10/5/2000 -
After my fairly recent bet Papillion scorched the
grand national, I thought that I may as well try
my luck again on the geegee's. So whilst I busy
doing my coursework (designing the dwarf level on
Duke, or playing Red Alert) I nipped out and
placed a bet (£1 to win) on a dead cert - Just
Wiz, in the 3:20 at Brighton. (Come on with a
name like that...) After waiting in hope next to
my telly, I was roaring like mad because it was
in the lead. At the last fence it stumbled, and
came in at a very good second. Damn
beast....<gg>
Another
Interview Uploaded!
10/5/2000 -
Today's man with the plan is none other than our
top storytelling MA bloke - your friend and mine
- Rocko!!
At This
Time In The Morning ?!
7/5/2000 -
At around 7:30am this morning I was wandering
aimlessly around in the dwarf realm with my
longsword when someone shouted for everyone to
look at the SV list. 40 in 45
mins or something like that. Within five mins the
land was a mad rush as everyone started bashing!!
Seriously. The wiz who was with us was the big G
- Gandalf, providing helpful reminders about the
time left and stuff. With me was Brocken,
Olazabal, Lars and a few others (sorry to anyone
I've forgotten). Zordell came as well later on.
So, with 2 mins left we got the list down to 10
in 2 mins - we got the extra 540 seconds, and
needed every one of them. Infact the big G had
was nice enough to postpone the reset by another
minute in the vain hope of us killing the major
mobiles. We didn't. <big sigh everyone>.
When the old "something magical is
happening" took place, we were down to just
2 mobiles. That's right. 2. The jellyfish, and
the Spider (where's Tom when you need him
<gg>?). What an effort. Well done guys, we
nearly got it. Almost. And thanks to Gandalf, who
turned the dull end of a reset into an extremely
fun one. You da man.
Site
Updates Ahoy!
7/5/2000 -
Okay. I've got new awards for you guys to look at
here. This week's winners include Wdi,
Gandalf and Tom....Apart from that why not check
the new interview. The
man in the hot seat today is....Morloc!
Fruitbat
Flies the Flag
6/5/2000 -Well
known pk and all round cool guy Fruitbat has done
what most of us only dream about and crossed the
border between mortality and immortality. After a
long hard set Fruity was crowned Fruitbat the
Wizard, with quite a few of us in attendance. For
loads more details click here.
Special
Interview is now up!
5/5/2000 -Okay
so I've brought it forward by a few days - so
what? <grin> Anyway, here's the moment
you've all being waiting for. My special guest
interview is now up. Click here to see who it is. You won't be sorry -
trust me.
Draggy
Bash Reminder!
5/5/2000 -
For those who don't visit here after they've
visited everywhere else (talking to myself again?
<gg>) us lot at the Wireplay incarnation of
mud2 are having a draggy bash! For those who
don't know what this means then it basically
involves everyone (who wants to) piling through
the fairy ring and slaughtering the poor beast
(Poor? Who am I kidding - this will be a welcome
revenge for all the times I've ever been
Hawumph'ed). It's being organised by our very own
Tom and if you've got any more questions then
mudmail him and I'm sure he'll be glad to help.
The date and time have been set - Thursday
18th May, the first reset after the mobile bash.
All are welcome and I hope to see you there. I've
decided to take Eric in there at the risk of
losing him to the horrid beast. What the heck -
we're all going to die sometime (Except the
wizzes).
More Site
Stuff
3/5/2000 -
If you surf on over to the Mud2 Oddities bit and
let it load fully you'll get a weird noise
(assuming you've got speakers and a sound card,
and you're not deaf). I'm gonna try and find more
of these. And if you come back in five days
there'll be a new interview up.......with someone
very special.
Death Of
The Week Candidates
3/5/2000 -The
first two candidates for the next death of the
week have been sent in! And they're both corkers!
First up is Mara the Mage, who succumbed to the
dragon on Tuesday (not sure whether it was a
Hawumph or not yet - would certainly be funnier
if it was). The second candidate is for Superman
who was brown breaded by the Giant3 on Thursday.
<wince> So the highlives are having a hell
of a week so far....results will be put out on
Monday (8th).
Eric in
Gay Site Scandal <rofl> !
1/5/2000 -
Hee hee - have you signed my guestbook (and if
not why not?) yet? Well imagine how shocked I was
to find that some vulgar person has linked to a
gay porn site on it. I wasn't sure whether to
laugh or hurl at the thought of it (gg). I think
I'll leave it on for now, it's mildly amusing I
think. I wouldn't advise anyone clicking on the
link though - you never know what these sites
contain.
Webcams
and Wheelie Bins :)
1/5/2000 -
Hmm. After a four hour ICQ "chat" about
such engrossing topics mentioned above (and also
things like putting a big green number 4 outside
my house and the state of the council) at 2am
with my buddy Seamus (whilst NOT watching
the wrestling I hasten to add) I somehow managed
to persuade him to answer a few questions for the
site. He duly agreed. So click here and learn more about the man they call
the kilted one. Btw did anyone get this morning's
(5:30am) Countdown Conundrum? I couldn't do it.
Bah.
