Er, no.
Uh, no. Um, no. ERM, yes!!!
29/6/2000 -
A shameless plug for my crunchiest persona (you
see that kind and generous wizards/witches -
crunchy. Sounds good, yes? Sounds great
premanently, you think? Look I'll beg on my knees
if I have to...<gg>), Cornflake (I mean,
soggy would be cool too...) and his new house,
ERM. Since he is a PP (you know, a postfix of
"with sugar on top" would get a few
laughs...) he can help people out whenever he's
in the land and newbies are cool. Remember when
YOU used to be one? Fun, eh? So if anyone sees Cornflake
the crunchy/soggy/golden Priest with sugar and
milk on top/in a bowl then don't hesitate to
ask for help, and I won't hesitate to answer.
Unless g10 nearly kills me again like today, that
is :) I do tours, and rescues from mobiles (not
players though, sorry), and even help with hard
puzzles (well okay, help with easy puzzles - I
don't know the hard ones.....hehe). Just thought
I'd let ya know :-) By the way, mucho respect to
Sycophant for organising that trip to Umbrarg's
Island for us and the gang - I had a great time
(boy can that man create a quest...) and can't
wait for our next trip (hehe). She's got a heart
as big as bucket0. (<whisper> and that's
just in a jar - you should see her OWN one.....)
What's new
at my site today then?
29/6/2000 -
Well we've got some new awards for you (finally!) and everyone's fave
guy Crowley answering some
"q's", which can be found here. I've also got a quite good set log
from Mankoid, who lost 260k at
the weekend. It's not up at the moment, as I'm
waiting for a (printable) comment from the man
himself. I'll let you know :-)
I don't
often beg.....
29/6/2000 -
.....but I'm going to now. Please PLEASE PLEASE
will more people start sending me nominations for
awards (how long would it take to mudmail me?). I
get a few each week but not as much as I'd like.
The logs and pictures are starting to dry up now
as well, and I'm going to soon start dipping into
my reserves (uh oh, hehe). So, I'm on my knees
begging all you kind and lovely people. (Look,
I'll even beg to the nasty and horrible
people....)
My Webstie
Updates
29/6/2000 -
I was actually shocked when I read a message from
my guestbook (have you signed it yet? If you
haven't, would you please - I like to know what
people think whether it's good or bad) from
Rocko, accusing me of not updating often enough.
I've actually had a few people say this (thanks
for the constant reminders Dcl hehe). It's just
that my A Level coursework deadlines are next
week and I've been working hard (scoff ye not at
the back there, I can actually work hard when I
try!) trying to get them finished. I promise to
start updating regularly again when these are out
of the way. Read the above plea as well....
Also, webstie was
a typo but it looks good. I'll keep it hehe.
Breathe a
sigh of relief...
23/6/2000 -
Reverence finally made wiz in the early hours of
yesterday morning after a somewhat hectic wiz run
that included two mortal fod's, numerous deaths
to the ts and all sorts of horrible stuff. The
land breathed a collective sigh of relief when he
went over, and people are beginning to edge out
of the tearoom, safe from the fearsome pking
antics of Reverence. From everyone at this site
(erm, me) we wish you a hearty congratulations.
Please don't forget to drop in the tearoom whilst
visible, as this is becoming fairly rare these
days.....anyway well done - enjoy your
immortality !
I'm
Famous, woooo!
23/6/2000 -
Well sort of. In fact not at all, really. I'd
just like to ask everyone to contribute to my
thread on the gameplay forum boards about
multiplayer gaming. I'm basically asking people
which is their best ever (if you recieve Wirenews
Direct, it's in the top ten yay!) multiplayer
game. Of course, I think Mud, but what do YOU
think? It's here for
anyone interested. It's also a part of my IT
coursework so I'd be glad of any help...
Mud for
Mortals!
23/6/2000 -
I'm not stating the obvious here, I'm talking
about a new mud client from Merlin. Although I
haven't tried it yet I intend to download it very
soon and give it a spin - I'll let you know what
I think. You can find it on Cat's site, which is here. This one
is a full blown Windows program and....oh I don't
know what I'm on about - see Cat's site for more
info (grin).
Saltcreek
makes Wiz !
17/6/2000 -
Yep two in one week! Congratulations to
Saltcreek, who joins the elitist ranks of Level
11. An ovrerseas player (our first to make wiz
here), he is also a wiz on mud2.com and BL -
Sepultura. Well done!
Foz and
Jincks under spotlight
14/6/2000 -
That's right. My latest interviewees get the Eric
treatment, and I'm back with a new house all for
my interviews, called EI. This way I can do
everything without (ahem) spoiling the other
person's set. For info on how this works go here.
Joey Makes
Wiz !
14/6/2000 -
Congratulations are in order for the land's
newest wiz, Joey. Yes, the big man finally done
it as Nokia. It's odd because I had no idea that
Nokia was Joey. Was I the only one then?
<grin> Anyway well done!
So that two in a
month to go over - who will be next then? I'm
taking bets on Firefarter, Reverence, Benny and
Wdi.....
Seamus
goes Highlife!
6/6/2000 -
After a lot of hard work and dertermination (and
encouragement from everyone in MA <grin> )
the big man's finally nabbed himself a mage. A
kilted one, no less. Wanna see him do it? If so
then mosey on down to the logs (here) where he kindly sent me the log him
doing it. Also in the logs is a hilarious one
from Elizabeth where she nearly makes witch (as
in, VERY NEARLY).
"Can
I have a batch please?"
6/6/2000 -
"Certainly sir, what type of batch would you
like? We have ham salad, tuna, cheese...."
"Er no,can I have a batch file please?"
"Um, batch file, sir?"
"You do sell batch files don't you ?"
"What type of shop do you think this
is?"
"I'm....willing to pay whatever it
takes."
"<whisper>We only have one left
sir."
"Good, I'll take it."
"Are you sure, sir?"
"Yes, why what does it do?"
"Well sir, rumour has it that it
automatically runs Turrican's Mud2 Client for
you"
"<gasp>Really?"
"Yes, it makes everything
really.....simple"
"So, how big would this file be?"
"It's under 10k, sir"
"RIGHT! You're nicked!"
"W-w-what?"
"We're the Batch File Police - you're under
arrest for stealing and trying to offload
Morloc's Batch File. You have the right to
rema......"
"Psst. Hey you, yes you reading this.
Yes I'm talking to you. Grab the file - quick
it's here.
If you put the client in C:\windows\desktop then
run the batch file it'll work, and even log your
game too! Now run!!!"
".....in a court of law. Now where's the
file?"
"And what file would this be, sir?"
And the
winner is.....
6/6/2000 -
Well, lots of them actually. Right here for this weeks (albeit four days late)
awards.
Interview
Update - sort of...
4/6/2000 -Actually
just a quick note to say tha all my next
interviews will be taking place ingame because
I've managed to get myself my own house, called
EI (Eric's Interviews <g>). The
victims...ahem...interviewees will be invited to
join EI and then I go and find a loverly private
part of the land to sit in and chat (usually the
appletree, but I plan to sit at the top (right at
the top) of North Mountain for the next one - the
view is outstanding). The other person doesn't
even have to stop what they're doing (or leave
the tearoom <grin>). I'd also love to
interview another wiz, so if anyone feels.....up
to it (assuming any wizzes read this trash
<grin>) then contact me (I've changed my
mail address as my other one has decided not to
want to work hmm) at home or ingame - a summoning
would be really funny, or if they want to take
control of the draggy and meet me under the
appletree <gg>.
Anger at
recent Foddings
2/6/2000 -Lately
in the tearoom there has been an awful lot of
talk about the recent spate of mortal fod's.
There was Rev who got fodded by a sorc, Elizabeth
who got fodded by a protector, and now Dclxvi,
who got fodded by a magician. Now I'm not sure
why these people do this - some people would say
Karma in the last two cases as it was Dcvlxvi who
fodded Elizabeth, and as they say "Live
By The Fod, Die By The Fod". There's
nothing worse than having a pesona fodded by a
mortal, and so being the kind of guy I am, I'm
about to start a very...heated debate on the
gameplay boards, because tearoom fod's are
ridicolous IMO. I'll get the link for you
tomorrow :-)
BTW, if you want
to see the obit from when Dclxvi was fodded then
click here. Notice the idiot who tried to fod the
spider. Fool.
It's
Finally Here! :)
2/6/2000 -
Maniac and Fleet's interview is up now, after
about an hour of trying to edit it because ICQ is
evil and wouldn't let me export it to a text
file. Hmm. Anyway, it was a funny chat to say the
least. You can find it
Bash
Results!
2/6/2000 -Thursday's
bash was a resounding success, and it only goes
to show the increasing popularity of the game
because of the magic words "--Database
1 has started initialising--",
which appeared halfway through. That's right
folks, over 50 people turned up to bash, and one
of the funniest things for me was the dwarf team.
What started out as a pityful cry for help by
Rocko for people to "Dwarf Team to Pan
View!" because there was only me (hero) and
him (hero) there. Then, after Cloud and Marlight
came shortly followed by Heiachii (the MA crew
<grin>) we were told by the Rockmeister in
his best Arnie the Terminator voice to "Acc
me if you want to live". Then
after lots of lag for me (and a brush with death
from the surly guards) we all met up in the guard
room for a kip. That's when the fun started.
Niles came in . Misterdee came in. Rubycon came
in. Olazabal came in. And they were just the
first. Take a look at my logs to see just how many people decided to
stick with us for the dwarfs. We got 9pts each
for killing the king <gg>. When Seamus has
put his bash report up, I'll link to it. Just a
quick note, my personal obit was the highest it's
ever been at a bash - a loverly 54 when I last
checked.
Fodder
gets Fodded
2/6/2000 -Dclxvi
the Warlock has been fodded. By a mortal. Crash
the mortal. Who some people know as Carrott. The
happiest person in the tearoom was probably
Elizabeth, who told us "my FODDER - FODDED
MY FODDER!" and also "I just find it
quite good that the two ppl who have mortally
fodded me, one just fodded the other".
Which apparently
meant that Carrott (who had fodded Liz last week)
had just fodded Dclxvi (who had also fodded her
last week). She was....overjoyed. As was Hawumph.
Yes, the mud2.com wiz popped in for a flying
visit (should come more often) and chatted to us
for a bit. (I threatened to push him north and
kill him, to get my own back for any horrible
things he could have done to me at mud2.com
<gg> not often you can say you killed a
wiz....although I was only joking....no! Not the
FOD finger!!!!!AARRGHH!!!) Anyway, Hawumph was a
bit miffed because Dclxvi had just boasted that
he could make wiz in a month on mud2.com, because
it's too easy. Well I think you've put your foot
in it Dcl, because even it would have
been easy, it won't be now, let me tell you.
Muddled
Times is now out!
2/6/2000 -You
can find the brand new issue of Muddled-times here, and it
ain't half bad let me tell you! Of course, don't
do what I did and try and read it whilst playing
mud, and die horribly to the wolf :-)
There's loads of
cool stuff there, and though I personally feel it
gives away too much information about certain
stuff, it's damn good, and I can't wait for the
next one! Well done guys!
